Place of birth: Francine Sandra Rivers was born in 1947 in the United States Of America.

Family: Francine is married to Rick Rivers. They have three children. Trevor, Shannon and Travis. They also have five grandchildren. Francine and Rick live in California.

Education: Francine attended the University of Nevada Reno, where she obtained a bachelors degree in Arts and in English and journalism.

Books published: Francine has written five book series including the Mark Of The Lion, Lineage Of grace, Sons Of Encouragement, Second Chance At Love, and Marta’s Legacy series. She has also published a long with her daughter Shannon a book called Bible Stories For Growing Kids. When she started writing novels, Francine wrote and published historical romance novels. She has published eight historical romance novels and a romance series. She published her first romance novel in the later part of the nineteen seventies, and her last one in 1985. She then went on to write Christian inspirational novels from 1991 onward. Her most recognized Christian novel to date is Redeeming Love, published in 1991. He first ever novel was actually published in 1976.

Previous occupations: Before becoming the Christian Author that you and I have surely come to know and love, Francine worked as a newspaper reporter and wrote obituaries and human interest stories.

Other accomplishments: The inspirational series that she wrote The Mark Of The Lion, sold over half a million copies, in 2007 her book The Last Sin Eater was turned in to a feature film and distributed by Fox Faith.

Awards: Francine has been honored with many awards including, The Christy Award, The EPCA Gold Medallion, and the Holt Medallion. She is also a member of the Romance Writers Of America’s Hall Of Fame. She has also won four RWA RITA Awards, this is the highest award given in romantic fiction. Her first RITA was for Best Historical Romance in 1986, for Not So Wild a Dream. Her others include her books published, in 1995, 1996, and 1997, and have been for Best Inspirational Romance.

Something you didn’t know: It was only after her Mother- in-law sent her several romance novels that Francine decided, she would really like to try write in that genre. She then went on to publish a historical romance novel in 1976.
