Be patient with God: Isaiah 30.
Isaiah 30:18. Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!
Over the past week I have struggled with having patience a lot. Nobody likes to have to wait for things to get done. We all want things done as quickly as they possibly can be. When we pray about something, we want God to instantly answer our prayers. Often we can’t understand why God takes so long to answer us
When we feel that God is taking too long to answer our prayers, or has simply chosen not answer them, we need to remember the scripture piece above. We need to see that God has a lot of compassion for us and will answer any prayer we have. If he doesn’t answer our prayer in the way we would like him to, we need to look at the situation to see that he possibly answered it in another way. It’s not necessarily how he answers our prayers, it’s just that he will answer them in one way or another.
When I felt impatient with God last week, I was upset and thought my prayer would not be answered. However I eventually saw this scripture piece and realized that God asks us to be patient because he loves us and does want to help us, it just takes time. God did answer my prayer after a little time. God also wants us to do things for him and we also take our time and some of us never do what God asks, Yet he has patience with us. All he asks is that we have the same patience with him.
Don’t get angry with God if you ask for help and he doesn’t immediately come to your aid, he will. Keep the faith and know that he will be gracious to you. He is a God of compassion. Best of all, as I have seen over the last week. Blessed are those who wait for him.
