How to pray each and every day: Matthew 6:
Matthew 6:6 “When you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father who sees everything, will reward you.”
Sometimes we struggle with how exactly we should be praying. In this scripture piece I am going to explain in five simple steps how you can pray, to make it easier for you. Once you start using these simple steps it will be much easier for you to pray on a daily basis.
Before we begin we must make sure that we are in a quite space where there will be no distractions. When it comes to worshiping God, what we want to do, is be able to tell God how much he means to us. Start by simply saying, ” I love you, you really mean the world to me.” Any form of praise can be used in the first part of prayer, as long as we show God exactly what he means to us.
The second step, is to thank God for all his many blessings. We want to say something like, “Thank you for being the provider this week for my family and I. Or thank you for being the one who heals all the broken people of this world. Thank you for showing me love, kindness and mercy this week God.” Thank God for all the many things he has done for you this week, or for all that he has meant to you.
Praying for others:
The third thing that we should be praying about is, to pray for others. We want to be praying for all our loved ones. you should be praying for your church, your country, your continent and the world at large. We should pray for those less fortunate then ourselves and for those more fortunate as well. Pray that God heals, provides for, and cares for all those we know and love.
Praying for ourselves:
The fourth thing we need to do is, pray for ourselves. We can then ask God for everything we need him to be and do for us in the coming days. We can thank him for what he has done for us up to now, then ask God to continue doing the same in the future.
Listening to God:
The fifth and final thing we want to do is, Quiet our minds and listen to God. God sits quietly and listens to what we have to say. So shouldn’t we pay him the same respect, and listen to him as well. Sometimes it is in these moments, when we feel what God is trying to communicate to us. If we feel a stillness of the heart, and we feel more relaxed, that may just be God telling us to relax the worst is behind us, and a smoother road lies ahead of us. So listen to God in those moments. Just breath deeply in and out and quiet your mind for a few minutes. Listening is just as important as the other four parts of prayer, so don’t forget to take some time to listen to God as well.
Remember to use these things the next time you pray. I use all of these methods of prayer everyday. It really does make my prayer times that much easier. I know it will do the same for you as well.
