Make more time for God: Exodus 5:
Exodus 5:4. The King of Egypt said, “Mosses and Aaron, why are you taking the people away from their labour? Get back to your work!”
In this busy world that we find ourselves living in, we all have to balance our priorities. This is especially important when it comes to managing our time correctly. Usually finding the time to get all of our work done is of the highest importance. We also however need to allocate time in our lives for worship, sleeping, eating, socializing and possibly even excising. Plus there are daily tasks like going to the shops for bread and milk that we also need to factor into our day.
There are many things in this life that are all competing for our undivided attention. In Mosses and Aaron’s time, it was to not take the people away from their building projects that they were working on. One of the most important priorities in our day should be worship. What does this mean? Well it doesn’t necessarily mean that we have to sing hymns during the day. It just means that we should be reading our scripture pieces on a daily basis, even if you are not the type to read long passages from your bible. Even reading this blog is a good start.
Our days become so hectic that we don’t even factor in time with God, time to pray, or share our thoughts with him. No matter how busy your day, find that moment when you can do this. It will make for a much better day. For me personally I like to read a piece of scripture each morning and then I pray. That just gets my day off to the best start. Then before I got to sleep at night I factor in some reading time to read from my bible. I then have some quiet time to talk to God and pray. This helps me to have a better nights sleep.
We work so hard in our daily lives, but we mustn’t forget to also work on our relationship with God as well. Remember that it doesn’t matter what you do for worship, as long as you never forget to make some time in your day for God. God will never not make time in his day for you. All you have to do is make time for him as well.
